Bermuda Autism Support and Education (BASE) has been increasing public awareness of autism since 2001. For more than two decades, we have been providing information, referral, training and support to families, professionals and community members.

As our understanding of autism and neurodiversity has evolved, so too has our mission. Our focus is now on increasing acceptance and accommodations for children and adults on the autism spectrum.

While we, like many professionals, typically use person-first terminology on this site, we recognise that many people prefer to use the term “autistic person” to acknowledge autism as part of their identity. We embrace all terms of self-identification and hope that all people with autism/autistic people will feel welcome here.
